            In the late Middle Ages, the Upper Palatinate in present-day Bavaria was a region where th
            of the Electorate of Palatinate, the Kingdom of Bohemia and, to a lesser extent, the Kingd

            intersected. While the Palatinate ruled the area, Bohemia held parts as fiefs gained by Ch
            the 14th century, and Denmark was in personal union with Palatinate-Neumarkt in the 1440s.
