Nový rektor Univerzity Karlovy Jiří Zima byl slavnostně inaugurován ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** English see below Praha, 11. března 2026 – Za účasti předsedy Senátu PČR, ministra školství a dalších význam proběhla dnes ve Velké aule Karolina slavnostní inaugurace nového rektora Univerzity Karlo 1. února 2026 stal prof. Jiří Zima. Ve funkci vystřídal prof. Milenu Králíčkovou, která ve Karlovu od února 2022. Odstupující rektorka UK Milena Králíčková podala závěrečnou zprávu za své čtyřleté působen univerzity. V bilančním projevu hovořila například o rozvoji univerzity, navýšení financí, wellbeingu studujících i zaměstnanců a připomněla význam společné práce ve prospěch Univer „Ráda bych na tomto místě vyjádřila své upřímné poděkování všem akademickým i neakademický Univerzita stojí na jejich každodenní práci, na jejich profesionalitě a nadšení. Univerzit jemuž se daří dobře tehdy, pokud jsou funkční všechny jeho úrovně – pokud jsou mechanismy na úrovni pracovišť, fakult i celé univerzity a pracují spolu. Pěstujme proto nadále poroz rozkol a stavme mosty – dobrá vůle je energií a motorem pro rozvoj a prosperitu,“ uvedla p Králíčková. Následně se ujal slova předseda Akademického senátu UK Josef Staša, který oficiálně předst rektora a krátce přiblížil proces samotné volby, jakožto jednu z nejdůležitějších pravomoc samosprávného zastupitelského orgánu univerzity. Své blahopřání ke zvolení do funkce připo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy Robert Plaga, který mimo jiné řekl: „Mým závazkem je přisp českého vysokého školství tvorbou nového vysokoškolského zákona, ve kterém budou jasně roz zodpovědnosti jednotlivých aktérů. Mohu vás ubezpečit, že se nebude jednat o zásah do auto škol, ale o to, abyste skutečně byli schopni efektivně univerzity řídit a naplnit potenciá jejich lidských zdrojích.“ Poté Jiří Zima převzal od své předchůdkyně Mileny Králíčkové odznaky úřadu a symboly práv – pečetidlo, klíč, rektorský prsten a zlatou medaili na řetězu, která je výrazem důstojnos akademického úřadu UK – a složil slib. Mileně Králíčkové předal historickou pamětní medail rozvoj UK a šíření jejího dobrého jména doma i ve světě. Na závěr nový rektor Jiří Zima navázal svým inauguračním projevem na tradici profesních př níž přítomným představil svou vědeckou specializaci – analytickou chemii a zdůraznil důlež přírodních věd: „Chemie si prošla trnitou cestou od náhodných objevů, alchymie až k system periodickou tabulkou prvků. Ta dala chemii systém a logiku, relativně pevný řád, ale jistě která by bránila dalším důležitým objevům, jež nás dostaly až do dnešních dnů, kdy synergi umožnila rychle číst genom nejenom dnešních lidí, ale třeba i prehistorických předků, zvíř Současně neopomněl vyzdvihnout význam zahraniční spolupráce: „Mezinárodní spolupráci a stu renomovaných zahraničních pracovištích považuji za obrovsky důležitou součást práce akadem univerzitě. Bez zahraničních zkušeností se člověk snadno uzavře do vlastního okruhu, přest méně zkouší nové cesty a postupně ztrácí schopnost být skutečným přínosem pro své okolí.
