Tato významná událost byla navíc letos zasedáním Předsednictva České konference rektorů, které se uskutečnilo na půdě Karolina na čtyřmi lety. Současně proběhlo již tradiční přivítání studujících v Kampusu Hybernská. „Úkolem univerzity není jen předávat znalosti. Má učit rozlišovat mezi informací a poznání a faktem, mezi rychlou odpovědí a skutečným porozuměním. Má být místem otevřeného dialogu, myšlení a sporů vedených argumenty.
