            To implement: Article 3 (3) of the Code of Study and Examination of Charles University

            Date of effect: 1 March 2019


            1.Schedule
              • 1 October 2019 commencement of the academic year and the fall semester of the academic
              • 21 December 2019 – 3 January 2020 Christmas vacations

              • 17 February 2020 commencement of the spring semester of the academic year 2019/20
              • 1 July 2020 – 31 August 2020 summer vacations
              • 30 September 2020 end of the academic year 2019/20

            2.Under Article 3 (3) of the Code of Study and Examination of Charles University and upon 
              consultation with the Rector, deans of faculties determine the beginning of a teaching s
              examination session, practical training, registration for subjects and other details by 

              respective Dean´s Directive. In order to preserve for students their possibility of regi
              subjects at various faculties of the University, it is recommended that:
              a.The commencement of the teaching session in the fall semester should be set for 1 Octo

              b.The period for registration for subjects and respective schedule should be set to incl
                between 24 September 2019 and 30 September 2019 in the fall semester; in the spring se
                period should cover the week from 10 February 2020 to 16 February 2020. Registration f

                students of other faculties must be open during those periods.
              c.The examination session in the fall semester should be set between 13 January 2020 and
                2020; the examination session in the spring semester should be set between 25 May 2020

                2020.
              d.The dean may stipulate by a Dean´s Directiveve that the examination period would inclu
                September 2020.

            3.Vice deans in charge of study, or other officials commissioned thereby, are to notify th
              Affairs Department of the Rectorate of Charles University by 31 March 2019 regarding the
              proposed dates for mass electronic registration of students for subjects and schedules f

              semesters of the academic year 2019/2020.
            4.The Student Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Computer Science Centre of Charl
              are to consider the planned dates with respect to any potential collision; should there 

              Student Affairs Department is to discuss with the respective faculties suitable solution
              list of dates of registration within the University is to be confirmed by 30 April 2019.
            5.The Rector´s Day is to be held on 6 May 2020.

            6.Rector´s Directive No. 6/2018 is hereby repealed with effect as on 31 October 2019.
