            * PVZP’s monopoly on comprehensive health insurance abolished

            Following the amendment to the Act on the Residence of Foreigners, residents of third coun

            Czech Republic no longer have to take out compulsory liability insurance with the Pojišťov
            but can now take out insurance with any commercial insurance providers.


            The amendment, which has already entered into force, allows foreigners to terminate their 
            Pojišťovny VZP (PVZP), a subsidiary of the General Health Insurance Company (VZP), within

            with another private insurance provider.
