I am a university student who has been affected by the war, but I do not hold Ukrainian citizenship

Due to the fact that the rules for admission do not specify the term "transfer", you must ap-ply as a regular applicant, meet the conditions for admission and enter the first year of stud-ies. Only then, if applicable, can you apply for the recognition of credits that you have previ-ously earned elsewhere for identical subjects. However, the recognition of such credits can-not be guaranteed in advance.

How to apply

  1. Check the database of all available degree programmes at our university. This contains all current conditions for admission, regular deadlines for the submission of applications, etc. We also constantly update it with the latest information.

  2. Apply for full-time study at CU (2022/23 academic year). Some faculties are still offering the possibility of applying as a regular applicant. If the admission procedure for your chosen degree programme is still open, you can take part in the standard admission procedure.

  3. Please present documents (certified copies of your diploma and its supplement) for the assessment of your previous higher or secondary education for the purposes of the admis-sion procedure (faculty) or for the general recognition of your tertiary education in another country (Rectorate) or secondary education in another country (regional government office). In case you are missing any document, a statutory declaration will be sufficient.

There is a possibility to apply for a special scholarship offered to students who have been persecuted in their own country. It is administered by the International Relations Office of the Rectorate of Charles University. The Václav Havel Scholarship is granted only to students who have been admitted and enrolled to study at Charles University. It is not granted auto-matically, and other criteria need to be taken into account. The scholarship is intended for foreign nationals or stateless persons who submit appropriate documents proving oppression or persecution in their home country.
