Professional profile:

Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the CTU (1986), then obtained a teaching qualification at the then Research Institute of Engineering Studies (VÚIS CTU) and a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University (1996). He is a full professor of kinanthropology at Charles University. His scientific work focuses mainly on diagnosis and objectification of human movement in the field of elite sport and physiotherapy. Since 2002, he has been the head of the Human Movement Laboratory, which has become an important department in the field of sports sciences. In the field of academic self-government, he is one of the longest serving members of the Senate at Charles University: he has held positions in the presidency for seven years and has been the Senate chair for three years.

Interests, hobbies:

Enjoys music and culture in general. He likes travelling, but most of all he loves South Bohemia. His life's hobby, his job and his life's work was and is sport and movement. He considers it lucky when a hobby and profession can be combined.
