Supported Activities ****************************************************************************************** * ****************************************************************************************** Diana Kmeťková – 11th EAAE Workshop 2026Charles University Environment Centre Thanks to the support of Charles University, I had the excellent opportunity to travel to to attend the EAAE Workshop and present our research on how information- and price-based i influence dietary choices in university cafeterias. During the event, I participated in a valuable career development sessions, including a panel led by journal editors who shared on successful academic publishing. The keynote lecture by Jesus Barreiro-Hurlé on bridging economics and policy also provided valuable insights into the European Union's current pri agriculture and food systems. In addition, the parallel sessions on consumer behaviour and gave me the opportunity to discuss real-world implementation challenges with colleagues fr In my presentation, I introduced our analysis of administrative data from university cafet using a difference-in-differences approach. I demonstrated that while information-based an interventions can each successfully increase the uptake of plant-based meals, their combin paradoxically result in early stock depletion due to cafeteria capacity constraints. The p received positive feedback and sparked engaging discussions with experts, including José M Universitat de Val?ncia. We explored topics such as the application of the "living lab" co behavioural spillovers (for example, compensatory meat consumption at dinner), and the imp motivation in implementing such interventions. Hana Moravcová – Hanover Academic Offsite Workshop & Writing RetreatFaculty of Social Scie Hana Moravcová attended the Hanover Academic Offsite: Workshop & Writing Retreat, held on at Hof Evershorst in Langenhagen near Hanover. The event was a professional training activ on academic writing, publication strategies, and the development of concrete research outp programme combined structured writing sessions, the setting of publication goals, regular progress, group discussions, and peer support. During the retreat, she worked on an ongoin and discussed its further development towards completion and submission to an academic jou programme also included discussions on the organisation of academic work, common challenge writing, manuscript structure, and science communication. Esraa Sobhe Abdelhamid Mahmoud – Flow Cytometry Summer SchoolFaculty of Medicine in Pilsen During my participation in the Flow Cytometry Summer School, I strengthened a core methodo essential to our laboratory’s focus on the tumor microenvironment. Our work examines genet and immune?cell dynamics driving tumor progression and metastasis, and although our spatia immunohistochemistry and whole?exome sequencing have revealed important immune and genetic functional characterization remains a key gap. The training provided practical and analyti flow cytometry, directly supporting my career development by enabling high?dimensional imm functional assay design. The event also enhanced the visibility of our research. I presented our main findings to t different institutions, generating scientific discussion and interest. This led to potenti with a group studying macrophage?mediated T?cell education, a topic closely aligned with o direction. Integrating their cell?line models with our spatial and genomic analyses could institutional collaboration and broaden the translational impact of our work. Overall, my attendance at the event directly supported my professional growth, increased t our research, and initiated meaningful collaborative opportunities that will benefit both and our institution. Tania Biswas – EMS School on Mathematical Aspects of Fluid FlowsFaculty of Mathematics and It was a great opportunity to attend the EMS School on Mathematical Aspects of Fluid Flows closely connected to my research interests. In particular, my research focuses on theoreti arising in fluid mechanics and related areas such as fluid–structure interaction and diffu models. The school helped me deepen my understanding of the mathematical theory behind flu Navier–Stokes equations, and fluid–solid interaction. The lectures and discussions gave me and ideas that will be beneficial for my research work. Moreover, it helped me to know abo challenges in the field and identify possible directions for my own research. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to meet participants from different universities and di backgrounds, and to discuss our research interests. These exchanges were valuable to me no scientifically, but also for gaining professional confidence and establishing future acade collaborations. Overall, attending the school was a very useful and motivating experience growth as a postdoctoral researcher.
