Preventing the Burnout Syndrome

A 3-hour seminar in person aims at people who feel overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted because of their job, studies or other duties. Burnout syndrome appears to be more of an issue even these days when people are finally back at work. A lot of stress and constant job demands may cause emotional, physical and mental exhaustion. If not dealt with, burnout can cause long-term changes to one´s body and may iniciate ilnesses such as cold and flu or fatigue.

Management of Science ONLINE

This workshop which we offered to the CU international academics in the winter semester for the first time, aims to give you a quick insight into the possibility of funding your scientific projects and how the system works at Charles University. You will get acquainted with various grant schemes and get some tips on how to increase the probability of receiving a grant or what to avoid when writing applications.

ALTE Course in Languages for Specific Purposes Test Design

This course is suitable for people with an interest in developing or understanding the testing of languages for specific purposes (LSP). These are tests of languages for clearly defined test taking populations such as foreign service personnel, call centre operatives, or healthcare workers and are distinguished from tests of general language proficiency intended for all. The course offers an introduction to the issues affecting the design of LSP tests and provides practical ideas on how to implement a LSP testing programme. The course will take participants through the process of designing, building, scoring and monitoring a test of LSP, working from examples of real-world projects in a variety of fields.

However, the CV is not the only document you send together with your application. Oftentimes, you are also required to send a cover letter or a letter of recommendation.
