prof. PhDr. Martin Kovář, Ph.D.

Professor Kovář is focused mainly on modern history of England (Great Britain) and its empire, political and cultural history of Europe in the 20th century, history of the European integration and transatlantic relations in the 20th century; he runs The Twentieth Century journal published at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. In 2012, together with the Egyptologist prof. Miroslav Bárta, he received the Charles University Rector’s Award for the most creative act of the year for publishing the “Collapse and regeneration. The journeys of civilisations and cultures. The past, present, and future of complex societies.” (Prague, Academia 2011).
