GFPS

GFPS is an organization for student and cultural exchange in Central and Eastern Europe, offering scholarships for study or practical internships.

Study Stays

The semester-long study program offered by GFPS differs from many other student mobility programs. Each GFPS scholarship holder is supported during their stay abroad by members of local GFPS city groups ("Stadtgruppen"), who assist not only with administrative matters but also with integration into the new environment.

GFPS scholars are not required to complete a specific number of courses or credits. Instead, they are expected to actively work on their academic project and participate in two international seminars at the beginning and end of their stay abroad (both travel and participation costs are covered by GFPS).

Intership

GFPS internships provide students with an opportunity to gain practical experience alongside their academic studies, even outside of the university setting. Students apply for specific internship positions that are announced in cooperation with host organizations, which also co-finance the scholarships.

This program offers scholars a unique opportunity to combine hands-on work with studying abroad. The internship schedule is designed so that the scholar spends three days a week at the internship site and two days attending seminars at the university. The internship scholarship is open to students of all fields of study.

Interns are not required to submit or present an academic project, unlike study scholarship holders, but they are still required to attend two GFPS seminars per semester. At the final seminar ("Forum"), instead of presenting a project, interns share their experiences from their internship and academic stay abroad.

Details about the application process can be found on the GFPS website.
