One Assistant Professor position in the field of applied economic theory with focus on microeconomic theory, information economics, political economy, financial markets, or evolutionary economics. In addition to pedagogical duties, the position places emphasis on creative participation in research activities including grant activities.
Requirements: PhD degree or equivalent, prerequisites for pedagogical and scientific activities, strong publication potential and proficiency in English.

to fill a full-time Visiting Research Fellow position at the Department of Economics

Duration: 1 year
Period: Commencement in September 2019
Description of mobility: The Visiting Research Fellow is expected to work on his or her own research project in the area of the economic analysis of law. The researcher is to be employed at the Department of Economics and will work on the project under supervision of a mentor (doc. Mgr. Libor Dušek, Ph.D., Head of Department). The researcher, by means of consultations, is to be involved in other research projects of members of the Department; the involvement in such projects as a co-author would be welcomed but is not not required.
The research project may be focused on any field within the Economic Analysis of Law; however, applicants presenting an empirical project and experienced in empirical research will be preferred.
The Visiting Research Fellow within the mobility will be employed as a full-time researcher. The Fellow is obliged to actively participate in conferences / seminars / workshops, etc., organized by Charles University, at least once in six months of the mobility. The Fellow is obliged to be affiliated exclusively with the Faculty of Law of Charles University on at least one publication published or produced during the mobility.
Support of the researcher´s family: AVAILABLE
1. The applicant must satisfy the criteria of a post-doc .
2. Within the last three years (as on the date of submitting the application) the applicant must have spent a minimum of two years outside the Czech Republic in the area of research with at least half research workload (50% of employment duties), or studied as a doctoral student (or a similar programme) abroad. Czech citizens are not excluded.
3. The applicant must have published at least two publications during the last three years .
Documents to be submitted:
1. Letter of motivation.
2. Documents proving the regular completion of higher education (copies suffice).
3. A brief description of the research project to work on during the mobility.
4. Professional CV (structured, including a list of publications and professional engagements).
5. Two letters of recommendation.
All documents should be submitted either in English or Czech.
Applicants who fail to meet the above-listed requirements will be excluded from the competitive hiring process.

Mode of evaluation:
The committee composed of at least three members appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law will first evaluate the fulfilment, or failure to fulfil, criteria as set in this Call, as well as the required level of professional competence and submitted documents. The committee will make a pre-selection of applicants who will be invited for interviews. In the case of foreign applicants interviews may be held via Skype.
The evaluating commisttee will assess individual applicants according to the following criteria:
Criterion 1: Quality of the submitted research project.
Criterion 2: Number and quality of publications .
Criterion 3: Benefits for the host institution as to the enhancement of knowledge and scientific methods in the area of Economic Analysis of Law.
Criterion 4: Letters of recommendation.
A written report is made describing the course of evaluation; the report will include the composition of the commitee, criteria under which all applicants have been evaluated, the order of applicants and reasons for such order.
The information about the evaluation procedure will be posted on the official notice board of the Faculty of Law and the webpage of Charles University.
