Outgoing Academic and Administrative Staff
Staff mobility (both academic and non-academic) is an integral part of the internationalisation strategy of Charles University. We consider international engagement of academic and research staff to be an essential component of their professional and career development. Therefore, we provide opportunities for mobility and cooperation at the international level.
Staff may choose from the following mobility options:

International Agreements
The primary objectives of staff mobility are:
-
gaining international experience in teaching abroad, hosting foreign lecturers, and sharing examples of good practice, e.g. in the development of foreign-language study programmes

enhancing the professional or language qualifications of Charles University staff.
… and, consequently:

developing relations with foreign partner universities
-
deepening cooperation aimed at joint project activities
-
increasing the visibility and promotion of the good name of Charles University both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

EU – ERASMUS+
Eligible participants:
-
Charles University employee with an employment relationship, i.e. under an employment contract or an agreement to perform work outside an employment relationship (DPP/DPČ)
-
Charles University employee nominated through a regular selection procedure announced and administered by the International Relations Office of the Charles University Rectorate (OZV RUK).
Purpose of the program:
-
Teaching mobility (academic staff only):
-
Regular teaching activities, particularly lectures abroad, seminar teaching, cooperation on joint/double degree programs, consultations, etc.

Staff training (academic and non-academic staff):
-
Includes a wide range of activities, including professional training, language and other educational courses, participation in staff weeks, job shadowing, etc.

Duration:
-
The minimum duration of eligible activities is 2 consecutive calendar days, excluding travel days. For mobilities to so-called partner countries (the United Kingdom, Switzerland), the minimum duration of eligible activities is 5 days.

The maximum duration of eligible activities is 60 calendar days, excluding travel days.

Inter-University Agreements
Eligible participants:
-
Academic and research staff from all Charles University faculties, including postdoctoral researchers (in a regular employment relationship with Charles University, not external staff);
-
Doctoral students from all Charles University faculties.
Purpose of the program:
-
The aim is to support student and academic mobility and facilitate research cooperation between partner universities or faculties.
Duration:
-
short-term (up to 3 weeks) research, study, and teaching stays.

Faculty Agreements
Eligible participants:

Academic and research staff
-
Doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers
Purpose of the program:
-
International exchange stays based on faculty agreements, i.e. agreements concluded directly between the respective faculty and a foreign university

International Agreements
The Czech Republic has concluded international agreements with certain countries. These agreements fall under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MEYS CR), and they offer our students scholarship stays abroad. The agreements specify the number of places, duration of stay, applicant requirements, and other conditions.
