Special bus lines will be in operation in Prague on the evening of Saturday, June 8, with one thing in mind: to get the many visitors around the many venues taking part in the 16th annual Prague Museum Night. The much-adored event promises a rich and varied program with plenty on offer for both children and adults. Charles University is taking part.

Some 45 museums, galleries, and cultural institutions are taking part (numbering some 70 sites), including Charles University. Participants will be able to explore rooms within the historic Carolinum including the Great Hall where students take their academic pledge at the beginning of their studies, or have a chance to visit presentations at museums and other facilities at three key faculties.
The First Faculty of Medicine’s Museum of Human and Comparative anatomy and Museum of Stomatology are taking part as well as is the Academic Club at Faust’s House.
The Faculty of Science is inviting attendees to visit its botanical gardens and to take a night tour of its greenhouse facility with its permanent exhibition focusing on flora from the tropics and sub-tropics. Chlupáč's Museum of Earth History, the Mineral Museum, the Hrdlička Museum of Man, will also be open to the public; the faculty’s map collection will also be on view. Visitors will do well not to miss the faculty’s remarkable interactive periodic table.
Participants will also be able to visit the historic St Wenceslas Rotunda at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics which received the Europa Nostra award in 2018. The historic site, only rediscovered in 2004, is a major draw.
