On March 6, 2025, the ambassador of France to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Stéphane Crouzat, presented the prestigious French Order of Merit (Ordre national du Mérite) to Professor Eva Voldřichová Beránková, vice-rector for international affairs at Charles University.
This prestigious award is given for exceptional contributions in various fields, including academia. The French ambassador honored Professor Voldřichová Beránková for her efforts in developing Czech-French relations in education and science.
The ceremonial event took place in the presence of representatives from the academic community and the diplomatic corps.
"The Order of Merit is a huge honor for me. However, it is also a recognition of all the colleagues who have worked with me in promoting French culture in the Czech Republic over the last thirty-five years," said the awarded vice-rector during the ceremony.
In December 2024, the French embassy in the Czech Republic awarded the Legion of Honor to Professor Milena Králíčková, rector of Charles University, for her contributions to medicine.
