15TH ISOP ANNUAL MEETING Cubism in Pharmacovigilance
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the ISoP Executive Committee and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 15th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP 2015), in Prague, Czech Republic, from the 27th to the 30th of October 2015.
Use of medicines has become more complex than ever before, bringing significant benefits, as well as risks to public health and patient safety mainly due to the adverse reactions, interactions, and medication errors. The topics of drug safety and risk/benefit balance have therefore become more of a challenge for health care professionals (physicians, pharmacists, nurses) as well as for drug agencies, scientific organizations, universities, state authorities, and pharmaceutical industry. The 15th ISoP Annual Meeting offers a unique chance to discuss these particular topics from different points of view and to share ideas on how patients' safety could be further improved. The goal of this event is to raise awareness of drug safety best practices worldwide, by sharing newest information on science and solutions among stakeholders.
The meeting will be hosted by the Charles University in Prague and the Czech Pharmaceutical Society. The Czech Republic was one of the pioneer countries in development of spontaneous reporting systems that joined World Health Organization (WHO) more than 40 years ago.
You will have the opportunity to discuss topics concerning pharmacovigilance education, drug safety in special populations, including pharmacogenomics, the role of pharmacists in patient safety and direct patient reporting. Last but not least, there will be a discussion about new methodologies in pharmacovigilance and hot topics around the “Cube”.
Prague has a number of famous attractions to offer, including an amazing historical city center, cultural events, gastronomy and entertainment. The city is often considered to be the "heart of Europe" connecting the West and the East of the continent.
We hope this ISoP meeting will bring you a unique occasion to establish networks and relationships answering the wide spectrum of needs in pharmacovigilance.
