1 October 2021 commencement of the academic year and the fall semester of the academic year 2021/2022
23 December 2021 – 2 January 2022 Christmas vacations
14 February 2022 commencement of the spring semester of the academic year 2021/2022
1 July 2022 – 31 August 2022 summer vacations
30 September 2022 end of the academic year 2021/2022
Under Article 3 (3) of the Code of Study and Examination of Charles University and upon prior consultation with the Rector, deans of faculties determine the beginning of a teaching session, examination session, practical training, registration for subjects and other details by means of their respective Dean´s Directive. In order to preserve for students their possibility of registering for subjects at various faculties of the University, it is recommended that:

The commencement of the teaching session in the fall semester should be set for 1 October 2021; |
b. |
The period for registration for subjects and respective schedule should be set to include the period between 24 September 2021 and 30 September 2021 in the fall semester; in the spring semester, the period should cover the week from 7 February 2022 to 13 February 2022. Registration for subjects by students of other faculties must be open during those periods. |

The examination session in the fall semester should be set between 10 January 2022 and 13 February 2022; the examination session in the spring semester should be set between 23 May 2022 and 30 June 2022. |

The dean may stipulate by a Dean´s Directive that the examination session would include July to September 2022. |
Vice deans in charge of study, or other officials commissioned thereby, are to notify the Student Affairs Department of the Rectorate of Charles University by 31 March 2021 regarding their respective proposed dates for mass electronic registration of students for subjects and schedules for both semesters of the academic year 2021/2022. The Student Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Computer Science Centre of Charles University, are to consider the planned dates with respect to any potential collision; should there be any the Student Affairs Department is to discuss with the respective faculties suitable solutions. The final list of dates of registration within the University is to be confirmed by 30 April 2021.
The Rector´s Day is to be held on 11 May 2022.
This Directive comes into effect on 1 March 2021.
