The activities and status of the Department of Social Impact and Engagement are governed by the Organizational Rules of the Rector’s Office of Charles University. The department’s activities are overseen by the Vice Rector for the Third Role, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Martin Vlach, Ph.D., and the Charles University Bursar, Mgr. Martin Maňásek. In accordance with Article 16 of the Organizational Rules of the Rector’s Office, the department supports the activities of the Rector and the Vice-Rector, particularly in the following areas:

• developing the university’s relationships with society, public institutions, municipalities, and regions

• developing the Hybernská Campus project

• collaborating with alumni and engaging students, staff, and alumni in third-mission activities

• collaborating with the nonprofit sector and student organizations

• managing the university’s visitor center and developing its role in presenting the university to the public

• popularizing science and fostering a positive intra-university environment

• projects for talented youth

• developing and managing the Charles University Endowment Fund

• the ukforum.cz portal and FORUM magazine
