Charles University is closely monitoring the current situation related to the floods in the Czech Republic. Our priority is the safety of students, staff, and the entire academic community.
We continuously evaluate the current situation and the development of the flood threat. The KISS communication system has been activated within the CU, the crisis staff of the University and individual faculties have been activated, and the Security Department of CU continuously informs all faculty management and other units of the University. Some social and other planned events have been cancelled, and checks have been carried out on risk areas, including the lower parts of buildings where critical technologies and resources that could be compromised are located. Preventive measures are in place, surveillance of selected areas and facilities is in place, and the flood plan has been activated in accordance with the Emergency Preparedness Plan.
If necessary, CU will respond flexibly to further developments and provide up-to-date information and recommendations.
The CU Security Department can be contacted at any time by calling 771 275 564 or emailing bezpecnostni@ruk.cuni.cz.
We can do this together!
Please monitor the University's communication channels for any further updates.
