Praha, 17. 6. 2024 – Univerzita Karlova (UK) informuje, že v pátek 14. 6. 2024 obdržela usnesení Policie ČR o odložení trestní věci ve vyšetřování tragických událostí na Filozofické fakultě UK. Dle dostupných informací stejné usnesení obdrželi nebo obdrží všichni poškození.
Univerzita Karlova potvrzuje, že podá proti usnesení stížnost s návrhem na úplné došetření všech souvislostí útoku i jemu předcházejících událostí. Tuto stížnost lze ze zákona podat do 3 kalendářních dnů od doručení, proto ji Univerzita Karlova podá dnes. Podrobné zdůvodnění žádosti právní zástupci Univerzity Karlovy doplní na základě nahlédnutí do spisu, který byl orgány činnými v trestním řízení zpřístupněn poškozeným k nahlížení teprve v pátek 14. 6. tohoto měsíce. Proto se bude v této fázi stížnost podávat ve zestručnělé podobě.
„V tomto smyslu jsme informovali zasažené, s nimiž jsme v pravidelném kontaktu,“ potvrzuje Lenka Henebergová, členka kolegia rektorky a proděkanka Fakulty tělesné výchovy a sportu UK, která se zasaženými průběžně komunikuje již od prvních dní po tragických prosincových událostech.
Univerzita Karlova v této souvislosti opětovně prosí média o ohleduplnost, etický přístup a mediální zdrženlivost v celé kauze. Zvýšený mediální zájem, zejména v citlivém období blížícího se šestiměsíčního výročí tragických událostí, oživuje a zesiluje bolest a utrpení, které prožívají pozůstalí a zranění. Zvláště konkrétní detaily z usnesení Policie ČR představují mimořádně bolestivé informace, a Univerzita Karlova proto žádá o maximální střízlivost ze strany médií v jejich zveřejňování s ohledem na potřeby zasažených a ochranu jejich soukromí.
„Apelujeme na lidskou empatii k hluboké tragédii, kterou pozůstalí a zranění stále prožívají,“ říká děkanka Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy, Eva Lehečková. „Děkuji také všem těm zástupcům a zástupkyním médií, kteří přistupují ke své práci citlivým a korektním způsobem a berou ohledy na potřeby a přání zasažených,“ dodává rektorka Univerzity Karlovy, Milena Králíčková.
Univerzita Karlova bude o svém dalším postupu i krocích v této věci nadále informovat.
Všichni členové a členky obce Univerzity Karlovy – studující, vyučující, zaměstnankyně a zaměstnanci – mohou stále využívat krizovou a psychologickou podporu, kterou UK nabízí. Univerzita Karlova ve spolupráci s odborníky z řad spolupracujících organizací také nadále pokračuje v poskytování finanční, psychologické a krizové podpory pozůstalým rodinám a zraněným.

Vzhledem k mediálním reakcím na naši tiskovou zprávu doplňujeme výše uvedené prohlášení.
Univerzita Karlova několik týdnů žádala o umožnění přístupu k vyšetřovacímu spisu, ale toto jí bylo umožněno až v pátek 14. 6. 2024. Reálně tuto možnost využít tak bude moci UK teprve v následujících dnech. Jedním z hlavních důvodů pro podání stížnosti je fakt, že se UK prostřednictvím svého právního zástupce nemohla podrobněji seznámit se spisem, ačkoli se jedná o skutečnosti, které se jí jako poškozené bezprostředně týkají. Stížnost je podána zejména z důvodů předběžné opatrnosti a je v ní i požadavek na stanovení několika konkrétních termínů nahlédnutí do spisu v plném rozsahu. Další vyjádření UK tak z pochopitelných důvodů může být relevantně podáno až po prostudování a posouzení skutečností ve spisu obsažených.
Žádáme tímto veřejnost o pochopení postupu zvoleného Univerzitou Karlovou, pro kterou je s ohledem na akademickou obec prioritou řádné prostudování materiálů ozřejmujících tak citlivou a bezprecedentní událost.

Prague, 17 June 2024 - Charles University (CU) informs that on Friday 14 June 2024 it received a decision of the Police of the Czech Republic on the postponement of the criminal proceedings in the investigation of the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. According to available information, all victims have received or will receive the same decision.
Charles University confirms that it will file a complaint against the resolution with a proposal for a full investigation into the full context of the attack and the events that preceded it. This appeal can legally be filed within 3 calendar days from the date of notification, so Charles University will file it today. The detailed justification of the request will be completed by the legal representatives of Charles University on the basis of a review of the file, which was only made available to the victims for inspection by the law enforcement authorities on Friday 14 June this month. Therefore, at this stage, the complaint will be submitted in an abbreviated form.
"We have informed those affected to this effect, with whom we are in regular contact," confirms Lenka Henebergová, a member of the Rector's College and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University, who has been in continuous communication with those affected since the first days after the tragic events of December.
In this context, Charles University once again asks the media for consideration, ethical approach and media restraint in the whole case. The increased media interest, especially in the sensitive period approaching the six-month anniversary of the tragic events, is reviving and intensifying the pain and suffering experienced by the survivors and the injured. In particular, the specific details of the Police resolution constitute extremely painful information, and Charles University therefore asks for the utmost sobriety on the part of the media in publishing it, bearing in mind the needs of those affected and the protection of their privacy.
"We appeal for human empathy for the deep tragedy that the survivors and the injured are still experiencing," says the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Eva Lehečková.
"I also thank all those representatives of the media who approach their work in a sensitive and fair manner and take into account the needs and wishes of those affected," adds the Rector of Charles University, Milena Králíčková.
Charles University will continue to inform about its further progress and steps in this matter.

In light of the media reaction to our press release, we are supplementing the above statement.
Charles University has been requesting access to the investigation file for several weeks, but this was only granted on Friday 14 June 2024. One of the main reasons for lodging the complaint is that the UK, through its legal representative, has not been able to examine the file in detail, even though it concerns facts which are of immediate concern to it as a victim. In particular, the complaint is made on grounds of precautionary principle and includes a request for a number of specific dates for full inspection of the file. Further submissions by the UK can therefore, for obvious reasons, only be relevant once the facts contained in the file have been studied and assessed.
We hereby ask the public for understanding of the procedure chosen by Charles University, for which the priority with regard to the academic community is the proper study of the materials revealing such a sensitive and unprecedented event.
