Charles University stands in solidarity with our colleagues and friends in Warsaw

“With deep sorrow, we received the news of the tragic attack that occurred on May 7th, 2025, on the campus of the University of Warsaw. In this difficult time, I would like to express, on behalf of the entire academic community of Charles University, our sincere condolences to the family of the victim, and our support for all those who have been injured or affected,” says the Rector of Charles University Milena Králíčková.

Zelenskyy: A role for all in Ukraine’s post-war revival

During his full programme in the Czech Republic, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy found time to visit Charles University. On site, he took part in an important discussion with students, moderated by the rector of Charles University, Milena Králíčková. A range of topics, including the opportunities for graduates to contribute to Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, was discussed.

Offices in Kampusu Hybernská? You want that!

Studentská Hybernská is once again offering student associations, projects and initiatives offices in the centre of Prague from August 2025 to July 2026, i.e. for a year (a period of two semesters). These are shared offices in the cultural and academic ecosystem of the Kampus Hybernská, a joint project of Charles University and the Prague City Hall.

Opinion Paper of Charles University on the Future Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034)

Charles University, the largest university in the Czech Republic, welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the European Commission’s consultation on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028–2034. As a research-intensive university actively engaged in EU-funded research, innovation, and education programmes - we strongly support a strategic, forward-looking, and future-proof approach to the design of the next MFF. We are, however, deeply concerned about emerging tendencies to reduce the role of fundamental research.

In Memoriam: Professor K. R. Rajagopal

The academic community at Charles University and beyond is deeply saddened by the passing of Professor K. R. Rajagopal, who died on March 20, 2025.At Charles University, Professor Rajagopal mentored many students and collaborated with several senior researchers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. He received an honorary doctorate from the university in 2012.
