Educational offer for young scientific workers 

• We would like to invite you to a new series of courses and workshops for young scientific workers – postdocs, research assistants, etc. – scheduled for autumn 2024. 

  
  

• These topics are relevant across various fields, so we believe they will be beneficial regardless of your specialization. They will help you acquire new skills and establish new connections. 

  
  

• The topics were selected based on the European Competence Framework for Researchers. 

  
  

• The courses are primarily aimed at young scientific workers at CUNI – postdocs, research assistants, etc. However, some topics are also open to PhD students. Please pay attention to the registration details and select the appropriate course option. 

  
  

• All courses are in English, but they are open to everyone, not just our international colleagues.  

  
  

• The courses will take place at the Kampus Hybernská, and some will also be available online – please select the correct optionat your registration. 

  
  

You can choose from the following topics (chronologically):

Open Science – Mon, Sep 23 at 3 PM 

This course will introduce the basic principles of Open Science.

Excellence in International Networking, Teaming, and Cooperation – Mon, Oct 7 at 3 PM 

This workshop aims to improv eparticipants' communication skills, to support effective collaboration with their colleagues, especially in a multicultural environment. 

Entrepreneurship II – Science into Action – Mon, Oct 21 at 10 AM 

Upon completion, participants will understand the process of applying research results in practice, be familiar with various methods and outcomes of science application in practice and be able to explain to a layperson the usefulness of their research. 

Research Data Management – Mon, Nov 4 at 3 PM 

Participants will learn how to manage their research data in accordance with FAIR principles and how to develop a data management plan. 

Entrepreneurship I – Design Thinking – Mon, Nov 11 at 10 AM

In this workshop, you will be introduced to various tools for developing entrepreneurial and creative thinking. 

Research Data Management – Mon, Nov 18 at 10 AM - new added date

Participants will learn how to manage their research data in accordance with FAIR principles and how to develop a data management plan. 

Supervising Graduate and Postgraduate Research Projects – Mon, Nov 18 at 3 PM

This workshop will focus on strategies, techniques, and tools for leadership roles. 

Various Career Pathways in Research – Mon, Dec 2 at 3 PM 

The goal of this workshop is to provide participants with an overview that will enable them to make informed decisions about their career paths after completing their PhD. Should they stay in academia or go elsewhere? What types of jobs and positions are available?
