On March 12, 2025, early-career scientists gathered for an insightful session on Open Science, led by experts from the Open Science Support Centre of the Central Library of Charles University, provided an essential introduction to the principles of Open Science, open publishing strategies, and copyright considerations.

Open Science is an evolving approach that aims to enhance transparency, collaboration, and accessibility in research. The European Commission encourages Open Science as part of its research funding and policy framework, highlighting its potential benefits for innovation and societal impact. In many European-funded projects, open access to research publications and data is increasingly promoted, aligning with broader efforts to make scientific knowledge more widely available to researchers and the public.

The Open Science workshop was part of our spring training series for early-career researchers at Charles University.
