Arriving to the Czech Republic

When arranging your travel to the Czech Republic, please bear in mind that three of Charles University faculties are located outside Prague: the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové and the Faculty of Medicine in Plzeň (Pilsen).

Before starting your studies, you must complete the enrolement at the University.

Your registration will be arranged during the Orientation Programme (1-5 days depending on the host faculty) or other meetings with the Faculty coordinator/s. During the Orientation Programme, you will get further important information about your Erasmus study process. That includes getting the Faculty coupon for your Charles University Card.

For more details, please read all of the relevant information on the Charles University website for Erasmus incoming students and informative e-mails which you will regularily receive from the European office as well as your faculty coordinator.

Charles University Student Cards

In order to get access to the Charles university fecilities, you will need the Charles University Student Card, which can be issued to you in one of our Card Service Centres. The Student Card enables you to use university libraries, refectories, study rooms, computer rooms, internet, public transport discount, etc.

There are two main types of the students card.

1. CU Student card (free of charge)

2. Student card with the ISIC licence (for an extra charge) that enables you to get discounts in theatres, cinemas, bookshops, sport centres or some restaurants.
