Types of Cards

All CU cards are equipped with a Mifare Classic contactless chip, a barcode, a signature strip, and a CU security holographic logo on the back of the card. The card displays the cardholder's identification details (first and last name, date of birth, personal ID number) and the card's validity. Cards with an ISIC/ITIC/ALIVE license show the ISIC/ITIC/ALIVE license number, the validity of the license and include a holographic validation sticker. Employee cards include information on the cardholder’s affiliation to a CU department or faculty.

The use of ID cards at CU is governed by Rector's Directive No.39/2023

Charles University Student Card

• Issued free of charge

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• Replacements due to changes in personal data (marriage, name change) are issued free of charge

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the student presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen

Charles University Student Card with the ISIC License

• For full-time students

• Issued for a fee of 320 CZK (ISIC license)

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 320 for the ISIC license)

• Replacements due to changes in personal data (marriage, name change) are issued free of charge

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the student presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen (the student still has to pay for the ISIC license)

Charles University Student Card with the ALIVE License

• For students of blended or distance learning programs

• Issued for a fee of 320 CZK (ALIVE license)

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 520 for the ALIVE license)

• Replacements due to changes in personal data (marriage, name change) are issued free of charge

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the student presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen (the student still has to pay for the ALIVE license)

Charles University Employee Card

• Issued free of charge

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• Replacements due to changes in personal data (marriage, name change) are issued free of charge

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the employee presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen

Charles University External Service User Card

• Personalized cards are issued for a fee of 180 CZK

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the external service user presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stole

CU Alumni Club Membership Card

• Issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the Alumni Club member presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen

CU Alumni Club Membership Card with the ALIVE License

• Issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 320 for the ALIVE license)

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 320 for the ALIVE license)

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the Alumni Club member presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen (the Alumni Club member still has to pay for the ALIVE license)

Lifelong Learning Program Participant Card

• Issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 200 CZK

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the lifelong learning program participant presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen

Lifelong Learning Program Participant Card with the ALIVE License

• Issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 320 for the ALIVE license)

• Replacements of lost or damaged cards are issued for a fee of 520 CZK (200 CZK for the card, 320 for the ALIVE license)

• No fee for a replacement card is charged if the participant presents a report from the Police of the Czech Republic proving the card was stolen (the participant still has to pay for the ALIVE license)
