Praha 25. listopadu 2025 – Orange the World: 16 dní aktivismu proti genderově podmíněnému násilí je celosvětová iniciativa Organizace spojených národů, která začíná každoročně 25. listopadu⁠⁠⁠⁠ na Mezinárodní den boje proti násilí na ženách. Univerzita Karlova se hlásí k nulové toleranci genderově podmíněného násilí, a proto se i letos připojuje k této kampani. Téma silně rezonuje také mezi studentstvem, a tak se v letošním roce UK Point opět spojil s univerzitním spolkem Studentský Majáles, jehož členstvo se ujalo online kampaně a organizace jedné z akcí.

25. listopadu se již tradičně večer Karolinum, stejně jako jiné významné budovy, nasvítí oranžovou barvou. O dva dny později, 27. listopadu, hostí Univerzita Karlova konferenci pro signatáře Charty proti domácímu násilí s názvem “Když je v práci lépe než doma”. Další akci organizují 5. prosince studující ze spolku Studentský majáles v Kampusu Hybernská. “Orange night: Slam poetry a promítání” nabídne večer plný kultury a sdílení. V rámci kampaně, na samotný závěr na Den lidských práv, proběhne také slavnostní setkání ombudsosob na UK u příležitosti zakončení osvětové kampaně prevence nevhodného chování.

Během těchto 16 dní Univerzita Karlova také přislíbila přistoupit k Lidskoprávnímu desateru zaměstnavatele, které vzniklo pod záštitou zmocněnkyně vlády pro lidská práva a Britské ambasády. Slavnostní přistoupení proběhne 2. prosince.

Orange the World campaign at Charles University

Prague, November 25, 2025 – Orange the World: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global initiative of the United Nations that begins annually on November 25⁠⁠⁠⁠, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Charles University is committed to zero tolerance for gender-based violence and is therefore joining the campaign again this year. The topic also resonates strongly with students, so this year UK Point has once again teamed up with the university association Studentský Majáles, whose members have taken on the online campaign and organization of one of the events.

On November 25, as is tradition, the Karolinum, along with other important buildings, will be lit up in orange. Two days later, on November 27, Charles University will host a conference for signatories of the Charter Against Domestic Violence entitled "When Work is Better than Home." Another event will be organized on December 5 by students from the Studentský Majáles association at the Hybernská Campus. "Orange Night: Slam Poetry and Screening" will offer an evening full of culture and sharing. As part of the campaign, at the very end on Human Rights Day, there will also be a ceremonial meeting of ombudsmen at Charles University on the occasion of the conclusion of the awareness campaign on the prevention of inappropriate behavior.

During these 16 days, Charles University also promised to join the Employer's Ten Commandments of Human Rights, which was created under the auspices of the Government Commissioner for Human Rights and the British Embassy. The ceremonial accession will take place on December 2.
