Flagship: 2 - Europeanness: multilingualism, pluralities, citizenship
Faculty: FSV
Project leader: Klabíková Rábová, Tereza
This project builds on previous collaboration between Charles University, the University of Milan and the University of Warsaw to enhance institutional communication within the European public sphere. Following an expert workshop, partners will organise two follow-up events in 2025, one in Prague and one in Milan, focusing on three interconnected challenges: developing practical tools for GDPR compliance to ensure transparency and public understanding, training public officials in clear and credible communication, and raising awareness of AI risks and promoting ethical governance.
The project combines research and practical application to improve communication strategies across European institutions. Interdisciplinary teams will create accessible tools for data protection communication, design training methods to safeguard institutional integrity, and engage the public in discussions on AI ethics and responsible innovation. The approach aims to bridge the gap between policy and public perception, fostering effective, ethical and transparent communication.
By integrating expertise from three countries and working in multiple languages, the project will access diverse institutional materials, promote diversity and inclusion, and strengthen understanding of Europe’s sociocultural richness. Outcomes will serve both academic research and the practical needs of policymakers, professionals and students, contributing to a more resilient and informed European public sphere.
