Europe’s shared legal foundations, combined with diverse regulatory approaches, make it an ideal testing ground for models of the “digital state” - a governance framework that integrates digital technologies into public administration, regulation, and citizen interaction. This project brings together researchers and postgraduate students from Charles University, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Geneva, the University of Milan, and the University of Barcelona to examine legal aspects of digital governance through comparative research across jurisdictions.
Academic exchanges between partner universities will allow participants to study best practices and challenges in digital regulation. The collaboration will culminate in a hybrid workshop in Prague, where findings on the implementation of digital state elements will be presented and discussed.
The project strengthens inter-university cooperation in legal and policy studies, fosters mobility for students and academics, and encourages evidence-based policymaking by assessing the effectiveness of different regulatory models. Outcomes will include visiting professorship lectures, a public round table in Prague, and academic publications indexed in Scopus or the Web of Science (WoS), ensuring both scholarly impact and practical relevance.
