The project continues the 2024 edition with an updated team and incorporates feedback from last year. It responds to the needs of Polish Studies students across 4EU+ universities who wish to learn contemporary colloquial Polish. Widely used among peers, in cultural production and on social media, yet absent from their current curriculum. The project will collaborate with final-year Glottodidactics students at the University of Warsaw, who will deliver 24 academic hours of online teaching for all participants and in-person workshops in Poland for Czech students.
Its aims include expanding the Polish Studies curriculum at Charles University with colloquial language courses, providing Warsaw students with teaching experience, and fostering cooperation among students from participating countries. It also seeks to strengthen ties between Charles University, the University of Warsaw and Heidelberg University, and create a foundation for future collaboration within the 4EU+ network.
Activities include an online course in contemporary colloquial Polish for students from Charles University and Heidelberg University, taught in three small groups over six sessions each. Students will also participate in on-site workshops in Warsaw, including practical language use, collaborative project work, guided tours and attendance at University of Warsaw lectures.
Expected outcomes include strengthened language competence among Czech and German students, teaching experience for Polish students, new academic connections that may lead to future projects, presentations on colloquial Polish for later use in language courses, and greater confidence among Czech students in participating in international mobility.
