1. Schedule
1 October 2019 commencement of the academic year and the fall semester of the academic year 2019/20
21 December 2019 – 3 January 2020 Christmas vacations
17 February 2020 commencement of the spring semester of the academic year 2019/20
30 September 2020 end of the academic year 2019/20
2. Under Article 3 (3) of the Code of Study and Examination of Charles University and upon prior consultation with the Rector, Deans of faculties determine the beginning of a teaching session, examination session, practical training, registration for subjects and other details by means of their respective Dean´s Directive. In order to preserve for students their possibility to register for subjects at various faculties of the University, it is recommended that:

The commencement of the teaching session in the fall semester is set to be 1 October 2019; |
| b. |
The period for registration for subjects and respective schedule is set to include the period between 24 September 2019 and 30 September 2019 in the fall semester; in the spring semester, the period should cover the week from 10 February 2020 to 16 February 2020. Registration for subjects by students of other faculties must be open during those periods. |

The examination session in the fall semester is set between 13 January 2020 and 16 February 2020; |
| d. |
The examination session in the spring semester is set between 25 May 2020 and 30 September 2020. The examination session must be set to include at least the period between 1 July and 31 July 2020, and the period between 1 September and 18 September 2020. |
3. The Rector´s Day is not held.
4. Rector´s Directive No. 6/2019 is hereby repealed.
5. The Directive herein becomes effective on 26 March 2020
