Erasmus+ is not just about studying abroad – it is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience that will serve you well throughout your life.
You will learn how your field of study is taught in another country, improve your language skills, learn to collaborate in an international environment, and make new friends across Europe. What's more, you'll add an attractive item to your resume that will catch the eye of any employer.
Erasmus+ is intended for all students of Charles University who are enrolled in an accredited bachelor's, master's or doctoral study programme in full-time or part-time mode.
Participants can go to any country in the Erasmus+ programme except the Czech Republic.
These are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey
You can also go to the UK and Switzerland.
If certain destinations are stipulated as a result of the strategic priorities of the faculty, it is also possible to travel to other countries around the world in individually assessed cases. More information can about Erasmus+ International mobility be found here.
Charles University is also a member of the 4EU+ Alliance, which includes seven prestigious universities: Heidelberg Universität, Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Sorbonne Université,University of Copenhagen, Université de Genève, Università degli Studi di Milano and the University of Warsaw. Students of Charles University can go to these universities for Erasmus+ stays even if they are not on their faculty/basic unit's "own" list of Erasmus+ destinations.
Charles University currently also has 3 strategic partners: University of St. Andrews, University of Zurich and Macquarie University. It is also possible to travel to these universities under the Erasmus+ programme, especially if you plan to continue your academic career and you would be tempted to work with these institutions in the fields of research and teaching in the future.
Charles University is also a member of the prestigious Coimbra Group, which includes the so-called
Student Exchange Network enabling students to go to associated universities even if there is no bilateral agreement, or beyond the specified number of places.

The Erasmus+ scholarship is a fixed monthly/daily amount, which varies according to the length of stay and the destination country.

You are entitled to a higher scholarship if you choose an environmentally friendly mode of transport to travel to and from the destination (the first journey to the destination and the last when returning to the Czech Republic). The following are considered ecological modes of transport: train, bus, bicycle, or shared car (carpooling).
Please note that the latter is not considered carpooling when someone takes you to the place of mobility and returns without you (family, friends). For further information, see here.

As many times as you pass the selection procedure, but please NOTE that the total time spent on Erasmus per one cycle of study (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) may not exceed 12 months, or 24 months if the course of study is an undivided master's programme (e.g. law or medicine).
It is necessary to have knowledge of English at B2 level, or the appropriate level in another language (if, for example, tuition at the foreign institution takes place in German). Verification of language skills depends on the foreign institution and also your home faculty/basic unit.

Communication with other international students at Charles University – e.g. in the Erasmus Student Network, participation in the Buddy programme or participation in events such as International Wednesday.

Study stay – the main goal is to study for a semester or an entire academic year.
Traineeships – the main goal is to work for a foreign institution. Such a stay is usually shorter than a semester or two.
Short-term Ph.D. mobility – designed for doctoral students. The length varies from 5 to 30 days.
Blended intensive programme – training course abroad organised by a partner institution (depends on individual offers).
Traineeship for graduates – must be completed within 12 months of graduation, but the application is submitted while still studying at Charles University.
