Expertise and focus: |
I combine expertise in pre-modern history, cultural anthropology and art history/visual and material culture. I am an early modernist (1500-1800) with overlaps with the late Middle Ages and early nineteenth century. I focus on cultural exchanges and transcultural/border-crossing phenomena, such as the history of translation, print culture, gift exchange, material culture, the history of mobilities, correspondence networks, gender history, etc. |
