Charleston Call 2026 Timeline

The Call 2 of the Charleston programme will open in early March 2026. Evaluation results should be available in early October, and the earliest possible start date for funded projects will be 1 December 2026. .

Charleston Programme Call 2025 Results

Charles University, in partnership with the European Commission, will co-fund 10 postdoctoral projects by postdoctoral researchers from around the world.

First Call of the Charleston Programme Has Closed

A total of 48 postdoctoral researchers applied, planning to carry out their projects across 14 faculties and institutes of Charles University.

Charleston Call 1 – Deadline Approaching!

The proposals must be submitted by Saturday, 31 May 2025 at 14:00 (2 PM) CEST. We kindly encourage all applicants not to wait until the last moment to submit their application via the IS Věda portal.

Webinar for Applicants – First Call

On 27 March, we held a webinar for the first call of the CHARLESTON programme. The participants received key information about the programme, including its eligibility criteria, supervisors, and funding coverage. We also guided applicants through the application and selection processes, as well as the expected start of funded projects.

Call for Applicants Now Open

CHARLESTON programme will support 10 early-career researchers in the first call, offering them a 24-month postdoctoral fellowship at Charles University and a 3 to 6-month secondment in a non-academic institution.
