The scholarship enables selected doctoral students to undertake a short-term research stay in France or pursue a PhD under joint supervision (cotutelle).
The Barrande Fellowship Program is based on an agreement between the Czech Republic and France, supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MŠMT) and the French Embassy in the Czech Republic.
Doctoral students can apply for two types of mobility:
PhD under joint supervision (cotutelle) – a total of 15 months over three years
Short-term research stay – lasting 1 to 3 months
Students enrolled at a Czech university are eligible to apply, regardless of their nationality. Candidates are selected based on the evaluation score of their project proposals.
Selected students will receive a monthly scholarship of €1,500 for both types of stays in France (the scholarship amount is determined annually and may change).
Detailed information about studying in France and application instructions, including a list of required documents, is available on the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research website.
