Charles University, in conjunction with the French Embassy, the Education Ministry, DZS and Erasmus+, has just hosted a conference on the importance of university alliances. More and more, alliances are gaining recognition as crucial for universities in Europe.
“Having children during one’s studies is not a sign of resignation about one’s academic ambitions,” says Aneta Ženíšková, a Ph. D. student at Charles University and a mother of three. Ženíšková is the founder of the new Association of Student Parents.
In the frame of the French Presidency of the council of the European Union, the MSMT, the DZS and the French Embassy in the Czech Republic invite to an event bringing together universities, local and national authorities and representatives of civil society to discuss the role of EUA in civic engagement.

Charles University has 26 new professors (five of them women) as of this week. On Tuesday 29 March, they, along with colleagues from other Czech universities, received their decrees from Education Minister Petr Gazdík.
Dr. Erik Meijaard is a highly-recognised ecologist and conservationist who has been based in Borneo since the early 1990s. The inauguration of Professor Milena Králíčková, the new Rector of Charles University, took place on 3 March 2022 at the historic Carolinum. She succeeds Professor Tomáš Zima who served for two consecutive terms. The new rector's term of office will last until 31 January 2026.
