To strengthen collaboration and facilitate the sharing of experiences among senior academic staff, the 4EU+ Alliance has introduced an innovative scheme of “visiting professorships”. This programme allows every senior academic to apply annually for funding for up to a six-month stay at one of the partner universities. The costs associated with these stays are covered by financial contributions from the member universities of the alliance.

In the pilot year of 2023, nine candidates were selected to spend two to three months at selected universities in the alliance. These stays not only support joint educational and research initiatives but also help develop new educational structures and the transfer of valuable professional knowledge and skills.
