Doctoral studies represent a transitional phase between the role of a follower and that of an emerging leader. This seminar will offer a concise and practical introduction to reflective leadership in an academic environment, where high autonomy and collaborative partnerships are expected. We will focus on distinguishing among roles (leader, manager, follower), conceptualising the essence of leadership in the context of social identity theory, and providing examples from research in the Czech context. The goal is to foster a conscious, responsible, and relationally sensitive approach to leading others, even at the early stages of an academic career.
The lecture is a part of the Career Day at CU. You are welcome to participate in the whole event!
