This interactive walking tour explores the courageous life of the women’s rights champion, resistance organizer, and democratic leader Milada Horáková. We will walk and see some of the places that shaped her life, such as the Karolinum, Prague New City Hall, and the Old Town Square, meeting place of the Women’s National Council. Horáková faced two totalitarian regimes and suffered greatly in her life, and ultimately, she was executed after a monster show trial orchestrated by the communists in 1950. Her life raises questions for us today: What good does suffering and struggle bring to our lives? How do we find and benefit from mentors? What can we do to bring about meaningful change in our world today?
