CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies) is a regional exchange programme supporting cooperation between universities in Central and Southeastern Europe, open to both students and academic staff.
Participating Countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Croatia, Kosovo, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Austria, Romania, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia
Types of study stays:
Short-term stays lasting one to two months, intended for the preparation of final theses (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral). The minimum duration is 21 days.
Semester stays lasting three to ten months. The minimum recognized duration is two months and 16 days.
Professional excursions lasting three to five days.
Summer schools lasting six to 30 days.
Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program and must have completed at least the second semester of their studies.
The total number of scholarship months during a bachelor’s or master’s program must not exceed ten months. For doctoral students, there is no limit on the number of stays.
Scholarships are paid in the host country upon arrival at the foreign university. The amount of the scholarship and the payment conditions vary by country. Travel costs may be reimbursed by the applicant’s home university.

Academic staff can apply for:
Teaching stays lasting five days to one month
Stays as part of professional excursions lasting three to five days
Participation in summer schools lasting six to 30 days
Coordination meetings with network partners, lasting two to three days (teaching not required)
Applicants are required to teach at least six hours during a five-working-day stay.
There is no limit on the number of stays during an academic year.
