Financial Support for International Credit Mobility
If you are a student from a partner university with which Charles University has an approved cooperation project under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme and you have been nominated by your home university to study at Charles University, you will receive an Erasmus+ grant after your arrival to support your stay here. The grant is paid in cash in euros and calculated according to the rates listed below.

Students staying for 2 months or less will receive 100% of the grant shortly after arrival.

Students staying at Charles University for more than 2 months will receive 70% of the grant at the beginning of their mobility and the remaining 30% approximately one month before the end of their mobility.

* The travel distance is calculated using the distance calculator available here. Prague, where Charles University has its registered office, is used as the point of departure. Please note that the calculator only recognises cities.
**Green Travel

The following are considered environmentally friendly means of transport: train, bus, bicycle, boat, provided that boat travel is combined with another low-emission means of transport, shared car travel, or carpooling.

For travel by shared car, you must submit the original statutory declaration signed by everyone who travelled in the vehicle. A template is available for download here: Statutory Declaration for Carpooling.

Important: It is not considered carpooling if someone drives you abroad and then returns home without you. Carpooling is only eligible when everyone travelling in the car intends to stay at the destination. For example, you may travel together with other students who are taking part in an Erasmus+ mobility at the same university.

You are eligible for the higher green travel grant if you use an environmentally friendly means of transport for at least one of your journeys (to the Czech republic or back home, or both).

Participants travelling a distance of less than 500 km should generally use low-emission transport, such as a train, bus or shared car.

You must make a binding choice of your means of transport when completing the questionnaire in Microsoft Word sent to you by e-mail. The amount of your grant will be calculated on the basis of the option you select.
Additional Grant for Students with Special Needs and Fewer Opportunities
One of the programme’s main priorities is to provide individual support and respect the specific needs of every applicant, including students facing health-related, physical, mental health or socioeconomic disadvantages. The most important thing is your motivation and determination to go abroad!
The additional financial support is usually EUR 250 per month. However, each student’s needs are assessed individually, and you may receive additional funding to cover all eligible costs related to your specific needs.

Examples of Eligible Costs

Transport: the difference between the cost of standard transport and the cost of the required additional or specially adapted transport.

Specially adapted study materials.

Assistance services.

Accommodation: the difference between the cost of standard accommodation and the cost of the required additional or specially adapted accommodation, such as accessible accommodation close to the receiving higher education institution.

Medical care, including regular medical appointments in the Czech Republic or abroad, rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
